Just being nice to someone for a change is all it takes to get the ball rolling. Once you get the feeling of selflessness, you'll want more…is that selfish? Any way, It feels really good to do something nice for someone else. It let's others know you care and teaches them how to do the same for others…try it!

My son told me the other day how he made an example of his friend because his friend was being mean to some other kid at his school. He did it in a diplomatic way so as not to hurt his friend, but teach him why it was wrong, and at the same time let the other kid know that he cared enough to stand up for him. I used to do this kind of stuff all the time when I was a kid because that's the way I was raised. My Mother taught me that every living thing on the planet deserved respect and I've practiced this in my life ever since I can remember. My son is 13, and in today's world where bullies and "strapped to the media" one-upmanship-like peer pressure is king, this is unique. I'm very proud of my son for being a leader and an example for others because he wanted to, despite what others might think or what it might do to his friendship. Truly selfless. I believe it made all three of them better and their world a better place. The other kid showed his appreciation and my son is still friends with his friend.

If we do nothing, we are not helping.

Feed the media streams with your experiences and flood the Social Networks with how we can all make a difference. Put something positive out there for others to use and share. Enough about what you had for breakfast…let's make web 2.0n… 3.0n'… count for something other than self :)

The voices in your head…

It's always in the back of your mind… what can "I" do to make a difference?

Start by waking up to your conscience. What's it telling you? DO THE RIGHT THING! Or maybe it's just whispering and you can't hear it… or every time you hear it, you're too concerned with the voice that's saying "do everything you can for you and screw everyone else?

Well, we all know which voice to listen to. There's no excuse. I've been listening to the "DTRTH" voice for as long as I can remember and telling others what it says, and doing what it says—opening doors for others, using my turn signal and even letting the guy who doesn't over when he needs to, teaching my son everything I can about selflessness and what a difference he can make by doing the right thing. etc.… it really works—I am making a difference and so is he! I sincerely believe that every single good thing I do, with a concern for the rest of the planet in mind, makes a difference. I believe I'm changing the world. I'm still taking care of my responsibilities and my family and still find the time and opportunities to do the right thing. It's not that hard. You just have to realize that all this "stuff" you're so busy trying to accumulate will not make you happy—doing the right thing for the well being of others will. Selflessness :)

So listen to your conscience and take some time to consider what's really important and how you can make a difference… and let me know how you do :)
